Where we meet at BCN

At Terminal 1 I wait in the arrivals hall on floor 0, just past the customs doors, with a sign showing your name. The hall has two exits and people often walk straight past each other — stay by the doors you came through and I will find you.

At Terminal 2B I wait opposite the baggage-reclaim exit, next to the information desk. T2A and T2C arrivals are a two-minute walk along the same building and I will tell you which door to use when I confirm.

If you would rather not wait inside, I can pick you up at the departures level instead, which is quieter and quicker to drive out of. Say so in your booking message and I will send you the exact spot.

Waiting is free for 60 minutes after your flight actually lands, not after its scheduled time. I check the flight number you give me, so a delayed landing costs you nothing and there is no need to message me from the plane.

The drive into town

The airport sits about 14 km south-west of Plaça de Catalunya, and the run in takes roughly 25 minutes on the C-32 and Gran Via. Between 08:00 and 09:30 on weekdays, and again from 17:30 to 19:30, the last three kilometres into the Eixample can add ten to fifteen minutes.

This is exactly why the distance matters. Sants is 11 km from the terminal, the Gothic Quarter about 15 km, and Poblenou or the Fòrum closer to 20 km. Quoting one flat "airport to Barcelona" price for all three would mean overcharging some passengers and undercharging others, so your price is worked out from the real driving distance to the address you give.

The fare shown includes the official airport supplement, all tolls, and luggage for up to four passengers. Nothing is added at the end of the trip.

Questions about this trip

How long does the taxi take from BCN Airport to the centre?

Around 25 minutes outside rush hour. Allow 35 to 40 minutes if you land between 08:00 and 09:30 or between 17:30 and 19:30 on a weekday.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing, and it costs you nothing. I track the flight number in your booking and move the pick-up to match the actual landing time. Waiting is free for 60 minutes after you land.

Is the airport supplement included in the price?

Yes. The official airport supplement, motorway tolls and luggage are all inside the price you see. The only things that can change it are extras you choose, such as a child seat.

Can you fit four people with suitcases?

Four passengers with four medium suitcases fit in the saloon car. If you are five or more, or you have oversized bags, choose the passenger count in the form and it switches to the minivan automatically.

Which terminal should I book for?

Book for the terminal your flight actually arrives at — T1 and T2 are 4 km apart and connected by a shuttle bus. If you are not sure, give me the flight number and I will check it.
