What the vehicle is like
Access is by a fold-out rear ramp, and the chair is secured with four floor anchors and a separate occupant belt. A companion can sit alongside rather than in front.
It takes a standard manual or powered chair. Very large powered chairs and some scooters are close to the limit, so send me the model or the width and I will confirm honestly before you book rather than turn up with the wrong car.
Booking one
Tick the wheelchair option in the booking form and the adapted vehicle is selected. The supplement is added to the total straight away, so you see the full price before you send the booking.
A few hours of notice is genuinely useful, since there is one adapted car rather than a fleet. For an airport arrival, booking the day before is safest.
What to tell me when you book
Two things decide whether the trip works: the width of the chair and whether it is manual or powered. Standard manual and most powered chairs fit without trouble; a few large powered models and mobility scooters are close to the limit, so send me the model or the width and I will tell you honestly before you commit.
It also helps to know whether the passenger transfers to a seat or travels in the chair, and whether there is a step or a lift at the pick-up address. None of it changes the price — it just means the right car arrives at the right door.
